As the major proponent in the Malaysian electricity supply industry, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is the main proponent of CIGRE Malaysia since its formation back in 1996. The Main Committee members are chosen from the industry and consist of the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and another 12 individuals. Election to choose new members of Main Committee is performed biennially (every two years) and the highest ranked executive of TNB is traditionally elected as the Chairman.
